Yilun Wang

NYC-based Organist and Pianist

Yilun Wang is a multifaceted musician whose artistry spans piano, organ, and harpsichord, with more than two decades of performance experience. Celebrated for both technical brilliance and expressive sensitivity, she has performed at prestigious venues including New York’s Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, St. Malachy’s Church, St. Peter’s Church, the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph, and the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral, as well as internationally at Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts, the Bach Haus in Köthen, and Vianden Castle in Luxembourg.
 
Beginning her musical journey at age five, Yilun quickly demonstrated exceptional talent and was admitted to the primary division of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Piano on full scholarship. She continued her education in New York with dual Master’s degrees in Classical Organ and Piano at the Manhattan School of Music. Throughout her years in both Beijing and New York, Yilun studied with distinguished pedagogues including Andrew Henderson, Walter Hilse, Raymond Nagem, Solomon Mikowsky, Inesa Sinkevych, Kenneth Cooper, Yuan Ling, Ling Zhao, and Yafen Zhu. Her accomplishments include First Prize in the Vienna International Youth Piano Competition, Silver Medal at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg Cup Piano Competition, and the Student Commissioning Project Award from The American Guild of Organists (AGO).
 
Currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Classical Organ, Yilun also serves as organist and music teacher at Grace Lutheran Church. She participates frequently in AGO events, festivals, and performances, and is an active composer and transcriber, weaving her own voice into the music she loves and sharing it in ways that continue to resonate with audiences.
